Although, very soon, i will be 97 years old, but i am still alive ! I request you to look into situation in the center of the computer music of the Moscow conservatory
A few days ago, I accidentally learned from the radio transmission about the existence of Theremin-center of computer music at the Moscow Conservatory, which is headed by Andrey Smirnov.
I wonder why the organizers of the Theremin Center at the Moscow Conservatory, did not consider it necessary to contact me or my daughter, Natalia Theremin, and ask for my permission to name the center by my name.
All the time I am in Moscow at home, except for short trips abroad. My home address you can easily find the information desk, as well as the Moscow State University and the Union of Composers.
I consider that it is inadmissible to use my name without my consent.
The title -Theremin- center imposes on me the responsibility for the activities of this organization. I do not have confidence in the people acting in this way, and would not want my name to be compromised.
I am sure that the center, which bears my name,ought to stand at a very high level, not only musically, but also morally.
The illegal using of my name by organizers of Theremin Center in Moscow Conservatory, makes it impossible to organize the center that bears my name, and contributing to the development of my inventions in modern culture.
I would like to see my daughter, Natalia Theremin, the musician and very close person to me, a virtuoso who posses the art of playing theremin, to organize the cultural center that bears my name. Natasha, as no one else understands the goals and objectives of the theremin, and perhaps the other inventions of my inventions.
I very much regret that the illegal using of my name has become the tradition at Moscow Conservatory.
For several years, the student composer’s branch of the Moscow Conservatory – Lydia Kavina, pretends to be my granddaughter, and in some cases, creating the advertising, signing the name Theremin.
L. Kavina engaged in intrigues and fraud from which suffering I and my family.
One of the last “compositions” L. Kavina – the sland N.Nesturh’s slander / mother of Lydia Kavina /to my daughter, Natalia Theremin. As a result of false accusations and testimony of N.Nesturh appeared the criminal case in the police. If at this moment my health could not stand the nervous tension, the story could have ended very tragically for my daughter, for such a false witness.
Unfortunately, people who have used my good attitude and who now want to be involved in using of my name, are acting by absolutely criminal methods.
Bulat Galeev published several articles about my life, in which he pretends to be my close friend , he have wrotten the lie, distorted the facts of my life.In february of 1991 in the newspaper “Komsomolskaya Pravda” was published The abusive article of B. Galeyev was published in the newspaper “Komsomolskaya Pravda” in February of 1991. The article describes the fictitious story of how my daughter, Natasha, threw my archives in the trash, and I, with some other person,was saving my archive papers from the machine for garbage
Galeev also says in the article that my archives had to be transferred to the Academy of Science
Neither I nor the members of my family had never transferred my archives to the Academy of Sciences, and of course, the story about the garbage car and my archives in the trash – an impudent lie.
Almost simultaneously with the publication of Galeev article , was destroyed the room, where I always had my laboratory. All the things was upside down, my theremins was broken and on the floor, dissapeared the part of the my archives.
I beg you to let me know if you will know something about the fate of my archives and its using.
Perhaps B. Galeyev is very appreciated person in the Union of Composers, because at registration our trip to the Netherlands in December 1992 in the Union of Composers was constantly insisted that my daughter and I were traveling together, on the same flight with
Galeev, but I rejected this a fellow traveler.
The fact that immediately after the submission of the application in the Union of Composers with a request to issue for me and my daughter of exit documents to France and America, appeared the threats to shoot me and my family. Our trip to France was thwarted by the Union of Composers.
The trip to America was managed to held only with the assistance of the USA State Department.
I feel that to establishment of Theremin-center was preceded by extensive preparatory work.
In this situation, I strongly object against the fact that the center of computer music at the Moscow Conservatory was wearing my name.
I understand that some people of art prefer to see me in such a state when they can safely take my name and manipulate with it to their advantage.
I have every reason to believe that the organizers of the Theremin Center at the Moscow Conservatory deliberately not contacted me.
I very much hope that my appeal to you will not cause the next trouble circuit.
